18-year-old arrested in connection to a stabbing in Port Colborne

Bylaw officer assault leads to second arrest, charges for Brampton man

Police have arrested one individual in connection with a stabbing in Port Colborne.

According to an official report by Niagara Regional Police, it was indicated that yesterday (Sept. 26) at 9:30 pm, officers investigated a violent dispute occurring near Borden Avenue and Elm Street in the City of Port Colborne. 

Upon the initial investigation, officers concluded that the fight escalated, and as a result, one male suspect stabbed the other male engaged in the altercation. 

The victim, a 56-year-old male, was then transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries according to police. 

An 18-year-old Port Colborne resident was then arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He remains in custody with a bail hearing set for later today (Sept. 27).
