Niagara Falls will be flushing hydrants from now until the end of October

The City of Niagara Falls is continuing their fire hydrant flushing program throughout the months of September and October.
In a release, the city said, “This is performed as part of a scheduled preventative maintenance program to help maintain good water quality and to improve water flow in your neighbourhood.”
The flushing is currently taking place in the general areas bordered by Thorold Stone Road, Stanley Avenue, Ferry Street and River Road (see map below for further detail).
The city noted if you reside in this area, you may notice a temporary decrease in your water pressure, and may experience discoloured water. If discolouration occurs, running a cold water tap closest to your water meter for a short period of time should alleviate the problem.
