Another COVID-19 death in Niagara Region with 18 new cases today

There was another COVID-19 death overnight, driving the Niagara Region to 433 deaths in total since the pandemic started in March 2020.

As well, there were another 18 new cases announced today (October 4) but with 35 cases resolved, the region now has 254 outstanding cases.

Twelve per cent of the cases were identified as the Delta variant while the other 88 percent are listed as “likely” Delta.

Niagara Falls continues to have the most cases with 70, followed by St Catharines with 63.

Fort Erie, Welland and Thorold all have figures in the 20s with 26, 24 and 20 respectively.

The remaining seven municipalities run from a low of zero cases in Pelham to a high of 12 in Wainfleet.
