Assault results in serious injuries to St. Catharines man

Police are investigating after a man was assaulted and seriously injured in St. Catharines last week.
Niagara Regional Police received a call for a “welfare check” last Saturday (Aug. 10) in the area of Merritt Street and Townline Road East.
A male was discovered injured after being assaulted.
“Niagara Emergency Medical Services attended and transported the male to hospital with serious injuries,” said Niagara police.
Detectives with 1 District have taken over the investigation.
