ATV driver in West Lincoln who was killed yet to be identified; Niagara police seek public’s help

An all-terrain vehicle driver died on Tuesday morning after reportedly colliding head-on with a minivan.
The Niagara Regional Police Serivce are investigating the crash. The NRPS says that around 5:40 a.m., officers from their Grimsby substation responded, with emergency services personnel, to a crash sccene in the area of Caistorville Road near Concession 3 in West Lincoln. The driver of a black CAN-AM ATV was found dead, and his identity has not been established.
The NRPS is asking for public assistance in identifying the dead man, particularly from families and /or businesses in the area with overdue family members or employees. They are asked to contact detectives.
The deceased is described as a white man, 25 to 35 years of age, who weighed approximately 170 pounds with a slim build. He has short dark brown hair and a dark brown beard with a longer goatee. He did not have visible tattoos.
The man was wearing dark beige work pants, and a blue hoodie with a “Sheet Metal Workers of Ontario” logo. He had a dark-coloured moto cross enclosed helmet with goggles, and knee pads that are similar to ones used by roofers and sheet-metal workers.
Four adults were travelling in the 2006 black Honda Odyssey minivan. They were each treated by paramedics from Hamilton and Niagara Region. One person is listed in critical condition in the hospital. The other three people had minor to serious injuries.
The circumstances of the collision remains under investigation. Caistorville Road between Concession 2 and 3 has reopened.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have information as to the identity of the deceased are being asked to contact NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives at 905-688-4111, ext. 1009089.
