The young busker who was plucked off the sidewalk by Canada’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel and rocketed to the finals is just one of six musical acts that will grace at the bandshell at the Niagara Falls’ Canada Day celebrations.

Samantha Meave Pearson, 25, who goes by the stage-name Meave, is the final opening act before headliners The Trip, a Tragically Hip tribute take over the Amphitheatre Stage at Firemen’s Park (2275 Dorchester Road) for a free Canada Day Celebration event on Saturday, July 1.

Pearson’s story is nothing short of incredible. Last October, she was busking in front of Fallsview Casino Resort when celebrity judge Howie Mandel heard her voice and instantly took her in to audition for one of Canada’s most popular TV shows.

While Meave and The Trip are two of the talents on stage for the Canada Day celebrations, they are not alone. Rita and A Daydreamer kicks off the entertainment at 11 am, followed at 11:50 am by Laurel & Hulley.

Mike Lynch is next at 12:40 pm before Le Trio Parisien featuring Juliet Dunn display their pipes at 1:30 pm. Meave brings it out 2:20 pm before The Trip close the show at 3:10 pm.

The Kids Zone Stage will be busy all day with shows kicking off at 11 am and then changing every hour on the hour.

Food vendors will include Alfie’s Lemonade, El Pinche Taco, Fiesta Empanada, Funnel Cake Dream, La Casetta Catering Inc., Johnny Rocco’s Pizza Truck, Marble Slab Creamery and Soups and Things.
