Canadian comedy icon Seán Cullen will be the headliner for Comedy Night in Pelham on July 29.

Wherever Niagara Falls comedian David Green goes, laughter follows.

As the founder of the Garden City Comedy Festival, he’s brought shows to every corner of Niagara over the years and he hooked a huge name for the upcoming Comedy Night in Pelham, set to hit the stage at the Meridian Community Centre on July 29.

The year, he landed a huge name for the Pelham show. Canadian comedy icon Seán Cullen will be the headliner for the evening, backed up by special guest Cathy Boyd, as seen on Canada’s Got Talent, and featuring Fonthill’s finest Taylor Grant and Bernie Law.

Cullen, a multiple award-winning, multi-talented performer, is a triple Gemini and Canadian Comedy Award winner. Impossible to categorize with his unique comedy, acting, writing and musical talents, he has made multiple appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and CBS’s The Late Late Show, as well as a number of his own specials including Comedy Central Presents, Comedy Now and was a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

Suffice it to say, Green, who as always will host the show, is looking forward to the laugh-filled night in Pelham.

“I’m so excited to bring one of Canada’s top comics Seán Cullen to Niagara for Comedy Night in Pelham,” Green told inniagararegion. “We had Seán as our Festival Gala Night headliner at the (St. Catharines FirstOntario) Performing Arts Centre back in 2018 and he brought the house down. I can’t wait to see him have fun with our crowd at the Meridian Community Centre.”

“The way he interacted with the audience was masterful and you definitely had to be there to fully appreciate what a talent he is. We’ve been doing shows at the Meridian Community Centre for four years now and consistently sell out our shows so I know it’s going to be a great night not to be missed! I grew up watching Seán on TV and it’s such a thrill to be able to share a stage with him here in Niagara.”

Green was equally happy with the opening acts on the big night.

“We also have TV’s Cathy Boyd who was seen on Canada’s Got Talent and we have local Fonthill favourites Taylor Grant and Bernie Law opening the show,” Green said.

“It feels good to give funny hardworking local comedians the opportunity to work with such established stars and hopefully (it) will lead to other exciting opportunities and inspire new talent here in Niagara.”

The show will run from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Meridian Community Centre (100 Meridian Way).  This is a 19-plus event and will have a fully licenced bar and snacks. Tickets are $30 each or a table of eight for $175. Comedy lovers can find them HERE.
