The Garden City Golf Course reopened today (May 13) for the first time this season.
The city-owned course nearly got shut down in 2019 during their budget deliberations but managed to sneak off the chopping block.
The 60-par course with all three and four par holes was reopened after city officials said the recent mild weather has made for excellent opening conditions.
“We are looking forward to welcoming people back for a few much-needed rounds this spring,” says Rob Vasko, golf course supervisor. “The greens are looking healthy and vibrant – ready for another fantastic year.”
The “pitch and putt” course won’t break a golfer’s bank as during the week, golfers can enjoy nine holes for $12 and rounds of 18 for $22.95. It’s only slightly more on the weekends as players can get nine in for just $15.55 and a round of 18 for $24.05.
Until the new booking platform opens up next week, golfers can book their tee time by calling the club house at 905.688.5601 ext. 1677. The course is located at 37 Lincoln Ave.
