With a handful of event finals today (August 19) and tomorrow, it’s almost a wrap of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.

The 13-For-13 Festival will wrap up in Grimsby tomorrow and that just leaves the closing ceremonies with the “Parade of Teams” being held at Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls from  7 pm to 10 pm on August 21.

Admission into the Closing Ceremony will be free and open to the public.

The special evening will feature a variety of Indigenous performances, and music by Toronto’s POESY and The Tragically Hip’s guitarist, Paul Langlois, in support of the Gord Downie – Chanie Wenjack Fund to take action to improve the lives of First Peoples in Canada.

The family-friendly event will close with a special evening illumination of Niagara Falls and fireworks grand finale at 10 p.m.

Organizers of the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games will be there for the traditional handover of the Official Canada Games Flag to mark the next Canada Games that will be taking place January 2023.

Tragically Hip’s guitarist Paul Langlois and POESY will highlight the music at the closing ceremonies.
