Computers, power tools stolen in string of break-ins in Welland

Police are asking for help identifying suspect who broke into a worship centre in Niagara Region

Two men have been arrested in connection with an investigation into a string of break and enters in Welland.

Niagara Regional Police were able to identify the two male perpetrators they allege are responsible for the break-ins and arrested them on Wednesday (Sept. 18).

Police then executed search warrants in the area of Rolling Acres Drive and Champlain Avenue and as a result of the search warrants, police located the following items:

  • 20 Computers and multiple backpacks from Quaker Road Public School.
  • $50,000 worth of power tools from two construction sites.

Jonathan Mamone, 29, of Welland was arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (3 Counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Mamone was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on Thursday (September 19) at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

Steven Mamone, 29, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (3 Counts)

Steven Mamone was released on a Form 10-Undertaking with a promise to return for a future court date.
