Construction finally finished on Niagara-on-the-Lake’s diverging diamond interchange

Finally!
It took two years but the fifth and final stage of the Diverging Diamond Interchange in Niagara-on-the-Lake at Glendale Ave over the QEW is complete.
The fifth stage was the construction of a new roundabout at Glendale Ave (Regional Road 89) and York Rd (Regional Road 81) which got the final touches yesterday (Aug. 2).
“The contractor worked around the clock and through the rain over the past 10 days to finish the roundabout construction in record time,” said the region.
The region also shouted out to motorists, residents and businesses who have seen two years of construction on the interchange.
However, it should be pointed out the Glendale overpass remained open while the Diverging Diamond Interchange was being built adjacent to it, as you can see below.
