CORRECTION: School board releasing over-all stats on vaccinations, not individual information

The District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) will not be releasing individual information on staffers who are and are not vaccinated, as reported here yesterday.

Kim Sweeney, the board’s Director of Communication, sent an email to clarify how the school board is releasing the information to the public.

“In fact, the DSBN is not providing any individual, or school data to the public. All of the information is aggregated and anonymous,” Sweeney said.

“The disclosure will be an overall percentage of the entire staff population that is vaccinated. No individual or school/department will be identified.”

So instead of “who is vaccinated, who isn’t” information, what will be available to parents and students is straight-up percentages from the entire board staff in all schools.

As Warren Hoshizaki, DSBN Director of Education, said in his original message to the school community, “it is anonymous and will not identify any person, or school.”
