Niagara New Burgandy Inspired Vineyard 2024

In a first for Ontario, winemakers at Domaine Le Clos Jordanne are establishing a major estate winery in the heart of the Niagara Region. According to an official press release, these new vineyards aim to produce Burgundian-style wine in a location that mimics the climate of France’s wine country.

According to Domaine Le Clos Jordanne representatives, this new estate is the company’s first brick-and-mortar location where guests can see the winemaking process in person and sample the results in Ontario. To introduce as much authenticity as possible, estate grapes are being grown on imported vines from France.

As indicated by estate officials, doors are officially open for public bookings.

According to information provided by Wine Grower’s Ontario (WGO) a new vineyard brings more to the province than just a fresh selection of reds and whites to sample. It also boosts the local economy, as the province’s wine industry generates nearly $6-billion in revenue and has created over 20,000 jobs.

Domaine Le Clos Jordanne’s new estate also features a finished interior, detailed millwork, a tasting room and a renovated terrace with countryside views. According to company representatives, each vineyard even comes with its own established microclimate, to make each wine as distinct as possible.

When discussing the future of this location and its overall impact on the Niagara region, Head Winemaker at Domaine Le Clos Jordanne Thomas Bachelder stated to the press, “Our first estate winery opens an opportunity to hone and uncover rich new wine stories from a range of parcels that build on our portfolio of distinct ultra-premium VQA wines.”

Detailed information on the selection of wines and booking inquiries are available on Domaine Le Clos Jordanne’s official website.
