Earlier in the week, both the Niagara Catholic District School Board and the District School Board of Niagara were playing it by ear when it came to whether schools closed today (November 4) due to a then-potential CUPE strike.

Of course, by Wednesday (November 2), both school boards had confirmed that if CUPE went on strike  – and it was pretty much a sure thing that negotiations were done at that point – they would could their schools for safety reasons.

So as predicted, both the NCDSB and DSBN schools are empty today.

But what happens on Monday? Both boards are mum of what will transpire should the CUPE strike continued.

Back to the wait-and-see though the NCDSB has said it will update parents by Sunday, November 6.

The DSBN is offering no virtual learning today though the NCDSB has asynchronous online learning available.

However, will it fast-forward to the recent past and everything goes back to online teaching should the strike continue?

Parents will be told sometime this weekend.
