Cyclist struck, killed in St. Catharines; Niagara police investigating

Niagara Regional Police Services (NRPS) in St. Catharines are investigating after a cyclist was struck and killed in the city Monday evening (June 13).
According to police, emergency services were called to Seventh Street Louth, between South Service and Second Avenue, at around 6:45 p.m., to reports that three cyclists had been struck by a vehicle.
All three cyclists were treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital, where one of the cyclists was later pronounced dead. The other two remain in stable condition, suffering from what police said is non-life-threatening injuries.
While at the scene, police ascertained that the cyclists were struck by a white Ford Edge.
Detectives from the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit have been called to the scene to investigate the incident, with assistance from the Forensic Services Unit.
