Driver going wrong way on highway causes collisions in St. Catharines

Niagara OPP are on the scene of numerous collisions in St. Catharines after a vehicle was observed driving the wrong way on Highway 406.

The wrong way vehicle was eventually stopped on southbound Highway 406 at Glendale St. and Hwy 20.

The driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital.

The investigation is ongoing as police say many vehicles narrowly missed colliding with the wrong way driver.

The driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle received minor injuries as they avoided a head-on collision.

Officers of the OPP Highway Safety Division would like to thank members of the public for calling in and reporting this incident.
