Emergency services continue to search for male missing in water in St. Catharines

The search is underway for a male who went missing in the water at Sunset Beach in St. Catharines.

Police responded to a call for the incident at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21.

“Initial investigation has revealed that a group in their early 20’s had rented a boat which was stopped just off shore when one of the males entered the water,” said police.

Emergency crews, uniform police, the NRPS Marine Unit, St. Catharines Fire, Trenton Search and Rescue and the Canadian Coast Guard all participated in an extensive search but were unable to locate the missing male.
Emergency services remain in the area to resume the search today (August 22).
