Fatal stabbing in St. Catharines leads to murder charge

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in St. Catharines on Thursday night.
Niagara Regional Police say officers responded shortly before 10 p.m. to a reported stabbing in the Church Street and Niagara Street area and found a male with life-threatening injuries.
The victim was taken to a hospital outside of the region, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say a suspect was identified and arrested.
Stephen Dunk, a 52-year-old St. Catharines man, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the incident.
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Friday.
The charge has not been proven in court.
