Firefighters throughout Niagara Region are rushing to the scene of a major blaze at a St. Catharines winery.

Fire Department officials are warning people to stay away from the scene.

Early reports indicate the fire involves a storage building at Hernder Wines on Eighth Ave. Louth and Seventh St. Louth.

The fully involved fire has led to the recall of all off-duty crews with the St. Catharines Fire Department as those already on the scene have taken a defensive position with aerial operations.

Calls have gone out to neighbouring Pelham, Lincoln and Thorold fire services for assistance.
