Fort Erie man arrested after police locate firearm

A Fort Erie man is facing charges following a police investigation into the possession of illegal firearms.
The investigation led members of the NRPS Emergency Tactical Unit (ETU) and Canine Unit (K9) to search a residence in the area of Bertie Street and Douglas Street in Fort Erie.
Police say one suspect was arrested and a firearm was recovered.
50 year old Fort Erie man Terry Gallagher is charged with:
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order – Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a firearm without a licence – Criminal Code of Canada
He was held in custody and will attend a bail hearing via video link to the John Sopinka Courthouse on April 23rd.
