Fort Erie man faces weapons charges after allegedly pointing a fake gun from his truck

These imitation guns were seized after a man allegedly pointed one from his truck.

A man from Fort Erie is charged with a weapons offence after allegedly pointing an imitation firearm from his truck.

At 10:49 a.m. June 2, a call came in to Niagara Regional Police 5 Division, which oversees Fort Erie. Officers went to the Garrison Rd and Crescent Rd area following reports of a man pointing a gun.

When they arrived officer found a man sitting in a white Ford F-150 truck. A search of the truck discovered two loaded imitation firearms which police seized.

Jonathan Jones, 18 of Fort Erie was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was released from custody and will answer to the charge in a Welland courtroom on August 3.
