Fort Erie Race Track is gearing up for start of its 125th racing season on May 31 and there’s something for everyone/

“We’re celebrating our 125th racing season with a free opening day T-Shirt giveaway to the first 2,000 fans with program purchase,” said the track, which opened way back on June 16, 1897.

“With live racing, great music, food trucks and good friends, get back to fun with this exciting outdoor event.
Admission and parking are free, all ages welcome.”

The first 2,000 through the door will get this free T-Shirt.

First race post time is 4:05 p.m., then “the fun continues when (Niagara-based band) Jonesy hits the stage at the Tiki Bar.”

Jonesy, together since St. Patrick Day 2004, are huge local favourites with their fun, rock-forward, get-em-on-their-feet style. Think The Killers meet Coldplay meet U2. Scott Neilson, the powerhouse singer who many have compared to U2’s Bono, has shared the stage with big-name acts like Bryan Adams.

Local Niagara favourites, Jonesy, will perform at Fort Erie Race Track’s 125th season opening on May 31.
