While the weather is expected to warm up over the coming days, the Niagara region is forecast to experience some frosty (literally) weather.
Environment and Climate Change Canada says that frost is expected across the region, with cold temperatures starting tonight and persisting into tomorrow morning.
Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas.
“Temperatures across areas inland from Lake Erie and Lake Ontario will dip to near zero for a few hours overnight into early Friday morning,” the advisory reads.
“Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”
