The Esso on St. Paul St. W had gas for $168.9/litre this morning while the Gales at Louth St and St. Paul St W. was only marginally cheaper at $168.4/litre. Expect a further drop today.

By this afternoon (August 5), expect up to a 6-cents a litre drop at many Niagara gas stations.

According to gasbuddy.com, gas in Niagara Falls can be found as cheap as $163.6/litre at the Shell (4790 Dorchester Rd).

In St. Catharines, both the Essos at 408 Ontario St and 142 Lakeshore Rd have regular selling for $163.9/litre.

Many gas stations in Ontario dropped prices overnight another 6 cents a litre.

By afternoon, Niagara motorists could be paying anywhere from $1.62 to $1.66 cents a litre at most stations.

Apparently, a promise from oil producing nations to increase production is causing the drop in prices.
