Good Samaritan lands in hospital after collision near St. Catharines

A Good Samaritan who pulled over on Highway 406 between St. Catharines and Thorold to help a man who had rolled his SUV into a ditch found herself going to the hospital after her car got rear-ended today (April 22) at 11 am.
The OPP Highway Safety Division reported that a 29-year-old woman had pulled over onto the left shoulder of the highway near Highway 420 after seeing the SUV in the ditch, hoping to help the 62-year-old driver.
However, a 23-year-old man struck the back of her SUV and both of them ended up being taken to the hospital. The only person not injured to taken to the hospital was the 62-year-old man who rolled into the ditch.
The police had the southbound lanes of Highway 406 closed down to through traffic.
