A master class in session at Forty Creek Distillery, located at 297 South Service Rd in Grimsby.

Free tastings at the Forty Creek Distillery in Grimsby have been the norm for decades but now they’re taking it a huge step further.

Starting June 9 and running through the summer, the distillery is creating the first-ever Niagara Whisky Guild and within it, a three-course master class that’s the perfect summer activity for enthusiasts to gain hands-on whisky knowledge from the Forty Creek’s Master Blender since 1992, Bill Ashburn and Campari Academy Ambassador Chris Thompson.

Each course will provide participants with a unique experience including but not limited to:

  • A deep dive into the whisky industry
  • Forty Creek’s origins and impact on the Canadian whisky industry
  • Cocktail techniques led by top mixologists and bartenders from the GTA
  • The art of aging and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Forty Creek Distillery
  • Opportunity to taste best-in-class whiskies

Courses run throughout the months of June and July and spots are limited to ensure all participants are offered an intimate, hands-on experience with the experts at Forty Creek, named Whisky Maker of the Decade at the 2020 Canadian Whisky Awards.

“New this year, visitors can also embark on a captivating self-guided tour of the newly unveiled Forty Creek 4D Museum Walla multi-sensory experience and art installation where you can immerse yourself in the Forty Creek story.”
