The bizarre case of the Lincoln home that was randomly shot late one night in May has finally turned up a suspect from Hamilton.

Near 11:40 p.m. on May 20, video footage showed a white SUV drive past a home on Central Ave., then back up in front of it again. At that point, a man got out of the driver’s seat and shot the house eight times.

The family in the house were all asleep and there were no injuries from the senseless assault.

After months of investigation and video surveillance, Niagara Police have now charged Salomon Bashir, 20, of Hamilton with discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life, carrying a concealed weapon, and assault with a weapon.

Bashir now has a court date on Nov. 6 via video link to the courthouse in St. Catharines.

“Detectives would like to thank those who came forward with information that assisted in this investigation,” said Niagara Police.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact the lead detective by dialing 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009935.
