Family and police concerned as vulnerable 71-year-old woman goes missing in St. Catharines

A human jawbone found in a rural part of Ontario led to a police investigation and the discovery of additional human remains this week, officers say.

Niagara Regional Police said that at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to the area of South Grimsby Road 6 and Young Street in the Township of West Lincoln.

“When officers arrived, they discovered that a resident had located a jawbone, believed to be human,” police said.

“Further investigation located further remains, along with clothing.”

The forensic services unit and a forensic anthropologist also responded to the scene.

The identity of the person, along with their cause of death, hasn’t been confirmed yet, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
