Icy performance of Cirque du Soleil premiering in St. Catharines

This is Cirque du Soleil like you’ve never seen it before – on skates!
While the troupe has performed their icy thriller, “Crystal” before, they are bringing it back and St. Catharines is its only North American stop.
The troupe touts the performance, saying, “As one of Cirque du Soleil’s most groundbreaking shows, ‘Crystal’ takes audiences on a journey into a whimsical frozen playground where circus art and the world of ice skating intersect with acrobatics and aerial feats.”
There will be eight shows at the Meridian Centre from June 30 to July 3, meaning it’s carving up the ice here for Canada Day.
“We are absolutely thrilled to finally bring Crystal back on the road. For two years our performers have been waiting to skate again and experience the joy of the live audience once more. It will be an emotional and magical return,” said Mike Newquist, Senior Vice President, Cirque du Soleil Touring Shows Division.
“We can’t wait to share in the energy and vibrancy of St. Catharines; and what an exciting time to be part of the region’s cultural renaissance as it gets ready to welcome the Canada Games.”
Shows will run June 30 at 7:30 pm; July 1 at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm ; July 2 at 11:30 am, 3:30 pm and 7:30pm and July 3 at 1 pm and 5 pm.
