Large playground closing in Niagara Falls for construction of new feature

A frequented community playground is in for some modern updates in Niagara Falls.

According to a release put out yesterday (Sept. 26) by municipal officials, it was indicated that a portion of MacBain Community Centre Park — 7150 Montrose Road — is set to be closed for the installation of a new feature, known as the WonderFalls Swing.

City representatives have indicated that the swing itself is designed with accessibility in mind for all visitors and residents.

Due to an overall concern for community safety, a large section of the playground will be blocked off during the construction period.

However, amenities like the primary swing set, secondary playground and washrooms will remain open.

The project is anticipated to be completed by October 31, 2024.
