Lincoln councillor appointed for third term to Ontario association directors

With Pelham Councillor Diana Huson’s recent membership on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Niagara is now also covered on the Ontario side as Lincoln Regional Councillor Rob Foster has been acclaimed to the Board of Directors for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO).
But Foster is hardly new when it comes to the AMO – this is his third consecutive term to the board, which will run for the 2022-2024 span.
“I look forward to continuing to my work on the board of directors for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, ensuring Niagara has a seat at the table,” said Foster.
“I am honoured to be able to represent Niagara region at the AMO level, ensuring that our concerns and priorities receive the attention they deserve.”
The provincial government has a long standing tradition of consulting with the AMO board when making decisions that will affect municipalities, as well as when deciding on the allocation of funding.
Thus the region knows having Foster continue to serve on the AMO Board of Directors will ensure that Niagara has a seat at the table when these decisions are being made.
“(Foster) has proven himself to be a tireless advocate for Niagara around the AMO table, and I pleased to know that he will continue to bring our concerns forward for the 2022-2024 term,” said regional chair Jim Bradley.
“AMO plays a significant role in our relationship with the provincial government and it is crucial that Niagara has a voice when decisions are being made.”
