Lincoln recently announced the launch of the Niagara Benchlands CoLab Portal to support collaboration amongst the tourism business community in Lincoln as a tool for economic growth and job creation.
“Tourism is one of Lincoln’s greatest opportunities for economic growth and one of the pillars of our local economy,” says Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton. “The new, innovate portal will help foster collaboration and connectivity amongst Lincoln’s key tourism stakeholders and businesses.”
The Niagara Benchlands’ new tourism business resource portal enables business owners to:
- Share information about upcoming events through an online events calendar
- Connect with other local businesses through an online company directory
- Access key Niagara Benchlands marketing and events assets
- Access current funding and grant opportunities
- Catch up on all tourism-related communication through a newsletter
“The Town of Lincoln is committing to working with our business community to develop the tools, knowledge, and resources to help us thrive,” said the Town’s CAO Michael Kirkopoulos.
“The CoLab Portal is a great example of what can happen when we bring people together to identify needs and opportunities.”
The Niagara Benchland CoLab Portal is the by-product of the Niagara Benchlands Tourism Summit held in February 2022.
Attendees participated in an interactive workshop to identify the tools, resources and content that local tourism-based businesses find helpful and actionable to support their business.
“Tourism continues to be an important economic driver for our local economy,” says Britnie Bazylewski, the Town’s Tourism Coordinator.
“Impactful tools such as the new Niagara Benchlands CoLab Portal, will help foster greater innovation and collaboration amongst our local tourism-based businesses, setting Lincoln’s tourism economy on positive trajectory for continued COVID-19 recovery and rapid market re-emergence.”
