A Lincoln man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was found stabbed and a good Samaritan had to step in during a front-yard fight in Grimsby.

On May 13 at 12:45 pm, police were called to the dispute in the Central Ave. and Lynnwood Ave. area, hearing that two men were fighting outside a home.

When they arrived, they found a 41-year-old woman suffering from serious knife wounds. Niagara EMS and Grimsby Fire quickly tended to her, shuttling her to an out-of-town hospital. She remains there in stable but serious condition.

Police realizing the two men fighting were the suspect and a good Samaritan, who heard the attack and came running to help. They also determined that the suspect and victim were known to one and other.

Allan Timko, 70, of Beamsville has been charged with attempted murder.

Timko was held for a bail hearing at John Sopinka Courthouse in Hamilton on May 14 and has since been in the custody of Ontario Correctional Services.
