Line of Duty Funeral to be held for fallen Welland firefighter

The funeral plans for a Welland firefighter who passed away on May 21 have be set.
Captain Craig Bowman, 47, died of cancer, an occupational illness of the job and will be given a Line of Duty Funeral at the Welland Arena (501 King St.) at 1 pm on May 30.
On May 22, the Welland firefighters posted the news on their Twitter account, saying, “It is with deepest regret & sorrow that we announce the line of duty death of L481 Captain Craig Bowman. Brother Bowman, 47, passed away last night after a courageous battle with occupational illness. A full LODD (line of duty death) Service is pending & will be posted when details become available.”
Bowman’s family is also holding a visitation on Monday (May 29) at Pleasantview Funeral Home at 2000 Merrittville Highway from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
A Toronto Maple Leafs super-fan to the end, the family is also asking anyone with Leafs jerseys to wear it to honour his passion for the squad at the reception at the Welland Arena following the funeral.
