Man found dead near roadside in Port Colborne

The body of a man was found at the side of a road in Port Colborne yesterday.

Niagara Regional Police responded to Forkes Road and Highway 140 shortly after 3:30 p.m., where they found the body of a deceased man in a grassy field.

The investigation is in its early stages, with a heavy police presence in the area. Police say homicide detectives and the Forensic Services Unit are leading the investigation.

Currently, no information suggests an ongoing threat to the community.

Officials have not released the victim’s identity, including his name, age and place of residence.
