A St. Catharines man and his family are ecstatic following a big lotto win.

Today, OLG announced that Mark Fluellon, a retiree, went ‘all in’ to win the Poker Lotto All In jackpot worth $50,946.10 on Aug. 30. He also won $5,000 on the instant portion of his Poker Lotto play, bringing his total winnings to $55,946.10.

Fluellon told OLG that he typically picks up tickets when the jackpot exceeds $50,000.

But even though he’s a seasoned player, this is his first big win.

“I was at the store buying my Poker Lotto ticket when I saw the royal flush come up on the lottery terminal screen,” he told OLG.

“I was in shock, and by the look on the store clerk’s face, it seemed they were too.”

Fluellon says the win came as a huge surprise.

“I shared the news with my wife and brother-in-law. At first, my wife thought I had won $5,000. When she realized it was more than $50,000, she started to cry tears of joy. I wish everyone could experience this feeling. It’s something I’ve never felt before.”

Fluellon says he isn’t sure what he’ll do with his windfall just yet.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kim’s Variety of Bunting Road in St. Catharines.
