More than 2400 chickens fly the coop, right onto a Niagara Region road

Thousands of chickens had a fowl afternoon today after they flew the coop on while travelling down a Beamsville street.
The truck carrying the flock did have its back door closed properly while driving down Ontario St en route to the QEW to head to Toronto.
While nearing the QEW, the back doors opened up spilling 2400 chicken chicks into the grass and on the road. OPP officers based in Burlington, the area’s Highway Safety Department headquarters, responded to scene shortly after the spill.
The officers and some motorists who pulled over to help collected all the chicks and loaded them back onto the truck.
Why did 2400 chickens try to cross the road?🐥🐣🐥🐣🐥🐣🐥🐣🐥🐣
Because the driver forgot to close the door. 🚚#BurlingtonOPP and public helped to get all the chicks back in the truck and on their way. Location-Ontario Street, Beamsville to #QEW Toronto bound. All clear now. pic.twitter.com/5kKAXtODgl— OPP Highway Safety Division (@OPP_HSD) August 29, 2022
