Motel robbed in early morning hours in St. Catharines

Niagara Regional Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man connected to the robbery of a St. Catharines motel in the early hours of Thursday morning (Sept. 5).
Police attended a motel in the area of Dunlop Drive and Carlton Street around 12:50 a.m. after receiving reports of a robbery just minutes earlier.
An investigation into the incident revealed an unknown male holding a “sharp object” had walked through the front entrance at approximately 12:40 a.m. and allegedly stole money from the till along with a cell phone.
He then left on foot toward Dunlop Drive.
Police say the employee who was working at the time of the robbery did not sustain any physical injuries.
The male perpetrator is described as:
- Approximately 40 years old
- 5’5- to 6’-feet tall
- Slim build
- Big eyes
