Mother and son charged after series of “smash and grab” thefts in Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake

A mother and son from London, Ont. are facing charges in connection with a series of alleged “smash and grab” break-and-enter incidents in Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Niagara police say that on July 5, several businesses in NOTL were broken into, and on July 14 and 15, more businesses in Niagara Falls reported similar incidents. Police allege the same suspects were involved in the incidents in both municipalities, which resulted in the loss of thousands of dollars of merchandise and property damage.

According to police, the suspects were arrested on July 22.

Police have charged Dominick Matthew Waindubence, 19, and Tonya Marie Waindubence, 43, with a number of theft-related offences.

Both accused individuals were held in custody for a bail hearing in St. Catharines. They remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on July 25.
