A brand new arts and culture hub in Niagara Falls will host a popular annual event for the first time this week.

Recently, the city reminded residents and visitors that it’s gearing up for the 13th Annual Night of Art event, which will be held at the Niagara Falls Exchange (5943 Sylvia Place). The event, traditionally held in the Niagara Falls History Museum, was supposed to take over the Exchange last fall, but construction delays kiboshed plans to move the art and music-focused event to its new home.

Now that the venue is officially up and running, arts and music enthusiasts can enjoy the festivities at the new location on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m.

The event, which is free to attend, will feature live musical performances, workshops and activities, art installations, and food.

As far as music goes, guests can expect live musical performances from DJ Dave Stiles, Sleepy Jean, Billy Rogers and Terra Lightfoot. Other entertainers and workshop runners include Bronagh Morgan, Eve Atoms & Cat, Thagard, Mini Putt What? by Brainkite, Omega Crew 2.0, Paper Bananas, the Little Strummer Boys and others.

Art will, of course, be the chief focus of the night, and attendees will be able to check out installations and artisanal work from several creators, including Angie Turner, Brianne Steinburg & Jacob Akkerman, Emily Andrews & Dillon Douglas, Kat Leibfried, Priyesha Bhatt, Sarah Carter, and others.

The event will also feature sweet and savoury culinary choices from several vendors, including 905 HotDog Pound, Andrzejewski Perogi Shop, Black Bear Bakery, Fireside (known for its Greek fare), and Shirazees (patties and samosas).

Craft beer and wine from local breweries and wineries will also be for sale.

The project broke ground in 2021 with the vision to be the epicentre of Niagara Falls’ Arts & Culture scene.

The Exchange is a 10,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor multipurpose event space created to foster and incubate the city’s Food, Music, Art, and Culture communities.

The Exchange is the new home of the Niagara Falls Famers’ Market, artist & woodworking studios, an art gallery, an on-site café, and more.
