Neighbourhoods reporting high COVID-19 rates in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Thorold and Port Colborne

Areas in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Thorold and Port Colborne are among those with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity rates (percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the area) in Ontario.
Toronto-based research group ICES listed postal code areas in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of September 5 to 11.
Of the top 50 listed, eight are in the Niagara region:
L2W at 12.00% (St. Catharines)
5th highest positivity in Ontario
L2E at 9.96% (Niagara Falls)
11th highest positivity in Ontario
L2V at 9.77% (Thorold)
12th highest positivity in Ontario
L2P at 8.82% (St. Catharines)
18th highest positivity in Ontario
L3K at 8.73% (Port Colborne)
19th highest positivity in Ontario
L2J at 7.48% (Niagara Falls)
30th highest positivity in Ontario
L2G at 7.14% (Niagara Falls)
34th highest positivity in Ontario
L2H at 6.91% (Niagara Falls)
42nd highest positivity in Ontario
The same data for the week indicates that out of all of Ontario’s 34 public health units, Niagara region has the third worst COVID-19 positivity in the province.
