You would think at this point there isn’t a single type of food that isn’t offered in Niagara Falls. After all, as the tourism capital of Canada, the city’s many restaurants has to be ready for every type of appetite from every possible culture.

It turns out they were missing one – authentic African cuisine. No longer as Mcuire African Restaurant and Bar opened their doors for the first time on March 27.

Among the first visitors were Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati and Ward Councillor Chris Dabrowski, who came away raving.

Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati and Chippewa Councillor Chris Dabrowski bring Mcuire African Restaurant and Bar owner Chioma the city’s congratulation on her March 27 opening.

“From the moment Chris and I walked into this restaurant, we were pleasantly overcome by the aromas of mouthwatering home cooking,” said Diodati, congratulating them on their grand opening at 3876 Main Street in Dabrowski’s Chippawa ward.

“Chioma, the owner at Mcuire, offers traditional Nigerian and Ghanaian food for dine-in, take-out, healthy meal planning and party catering. Come visit and taste for yourself the delights of the Niagara region’s only African restaurant,” added.

Chioma herself said, “Here at Mcuire, we welcome you as a guest in our African Restaurant by serving you dishes made with the utmost care and effort. We only use the freshest and elite ingredients. Eating those healthy yet delicious African food. We offer Nigerian food and Ghanaian food.”

One eager reviewer landed before the restaurant was even open but was able to get a take-out order that was clearly to his liking.

“When I visited the restaurant, I was disappointed because they weren’t open yet,” he noted. “I called the owner and it turns out I could actually order from her and get my food delivered to me. I had the African Jollof rice and this is the best meal I’ve had since I left Africa. I cannot wait the grand opening!”
