A family-friendly eatery in Welland says it will be closing down in the not-too-distant future after being “pushed out” of its location.
On Aug. 3, the operators of casual dining spot Mommaz Boyz Pub and Eatery took to social media to announce that they will be closing their doors.
“Yes it is true, we will be closing our doors soon as to being pushed out of our location,” the operators said, adding that they’re grateful for support from diners and staff.
“We want to thank all of our loyal customers for all the support over the years, and our hard-working staff over the years making this dream come true…without you guys we wouldn’t [have] made it come true, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts, couldn’t have done it without you.”
The restaurant, which opened in 2014, is known for serving a number of comfort food staples, including chicken tenders, quesadillas, tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, nachos, wraps, salads and more.
The restaurant also offers an extensive kids’ menu, which includes a kids’ poutine.
Diners were disappointed to hear the news.
“Am so sad to read this. My husband and I love that big steak sub. You guys are amazing and I don’t think you will be closed for long. Nothing but best wishes sent to you all,” one poster wrote on social media.
Another also shared their condolences and wished the owners well,
“Oh nooo. I am so sorry and sad to hear that! I sure hope you are able to find another location,” a customer wrote.
While the operators didn’t mention any immediate plans to relocate, they said that reopening is a possibility.
“Who knows maybe we will find another location soon,” they wrote on Facebook.
