A study by an online casino company has declared Niagara Falls to be the “most magical” attraction in Canada.

“Situated on the Niagara river, it is known for its mesmerizing display of roaring sound which can be heard from a distance, creating a hypnotic auditory experience,” said the study.

“With water continuously plummeting from a height of up to 57 meters into a chasm to create awe-inspiring visuals. The natural wonder has 317,000 Instagram hashtags as well as 1,161 mentions of words associated with ‘magical’.”

While the chart below shows Niagara Falls with only a third of the Instagram hashtags as the second place finisher, Lake Louise in Alberta, it also noted that the local attraction is divided between the hashtags “Niagara Falls” and “Niagara Falls Canada” on Instagram and together add up to far more posts.

On the list, three B.C. attractions came in third, fourth and fifth – Moraine Lake, Capilano Suspension Bridge and Stanley Park. Sixth was Center Island in Toronto while Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse in Nova Scotia was seventh.

Glacier National Park in B.C. came eighth, followed by Newfoundland’s Cape Spear Lighthouse. Tying for 10th was New Brunswick’s Hopewell Rocks and Alberta’s Athabasca Falls.
