Niagara has nine of website’s Top-100 best date restaurants in Canada

Restaurant booking and review site OpenTable.ca has just released their “100 Best Restaurants for a Date in Canada” and nine Niagara area eateries made the list.

“After countless messages, you’re finally taking the next step: meeting in real life. That’s stressful enough, so don’t sweat the restaurant choice. Find everything from grand special occasion spaces to cozy neighborhood restaurants on this list of spots that diners always rate highly for date night,” said the website.

The lists was created from over one million verified OpenTable diner reviews collected between June 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022.

In Lincoln, Restaurant at Peninsula Ridge (5600 King St, Beamsville) made the cut, scoring 4.5 for its food and 4.7 for both its service and ambiance.

“Peninsula Ridge Estates is truly a world class wine and culinary destination catering to guests who are looking to pair a relaxed and casual atmosphere with an incredible dining experience,” says it website. “The property is stunning, with breathtaking views of the Niagara Escarpment, Lake Ontario including the Toronto Skyline and of course our pristine vineyards.”

Also from Lincoln, The Good Earth Vineyard and Winery (4556 Lincoln Ave, Beamsville) was on the list, scoring  4.8 across the board for its food, service and ambiance.

“Since 1998, when we opened our Niagara farm, home and hearts to our guests, The Good Earth Food and Wine Co. has been a haven for discerning food and wine lovers and an oasis for the senses,” its website says. “Our gardens, orchards and vineyards provide a spectacular backdrop for wine and culinary experiences that reflect all the good things the earth has to offer.”

Once again from the Lincoln area, the Vineland Estates Winery Restaurant (3620 Moyer Rd, Vineland) was in the Top-100, scoring 4.7 for its food and its service and 4.8 for its ambiance.

“Imagine dining and enjoying the stunning view of our vineyards and Lake Ontario in the distance,” it says. “Headed by Executive Chef George Ward Jr, our talented team of Chefs create Niagara cuisine utilizing the freshest local seasonal ingredients.”

Still in the Lincoln area is Inn on the Twenty (3845 Main St, Jordan Station) made the cut, scoring 4.5 for its food, 4.8 for its service and 4.6 for its ambiance.

“Our dining room has a stunning wall of windows facing west overlooking the 20 Mile Creek and the Beamsville Escarpment,” the restaurant says. “If you have selected our patio for dining please note that it is located across the street from the restaurant and is uncovered so may close due to heat or inclement weather.”

In St. Catharines, Cafe Amore (211 Martindale Rd) made the Top 100, scoring 4.7 for its food, 4.6 for its service and 4.5 for its ambiance.

“Cafe Amore has been serving great Mediterranean-inspired food since 1995. There’s something for everyone at this popular local establishment,” says its website. “Pasta dishes, wood-fired pizza made with imported ingredients, paella, seafood, steaks, chicken dishes all served with a Mediterranean flare can be found here.”

Also is St. Catharines, Valley Restaurant (93 Arthur St) found itself on the list after scoring 4.8 for its food and its service and 4.7 for its ambiance.

“The Valley Restaurant brings a European feel to Niagara dining,” says the restaurant. “Tucked away on a quiet street in north St. Catharines close to Niagara-on-the-Lake this trattoria style restaurant serves homemade Italian inspired cuisine.”

In Niagara-on-the-Lake, The Winery Restaurant at Peller Estates found itself in the Top-100, scoring 4.6 for its food, 4.7 for its service and its ambiance.

“At the heart of Peller Estates is The Winery Restaurant, where sweeping vineyard views from our dining room or patio and a warm ambiance make it easy to relax and enjoy life’s simple pleasures,” says the restaurant.

“It is here where Executive Chef and CityLine personality Jason Parsons awakens your palate with inventive seasonal menus focused on local ingredients, and Winemaker Katie Dickieson thoughtfully crafts wines with food pairings in mind, creating a truly memorable meal.”

Shifting down to Niagara Falls, Remingtons of Niagara (5657 Victoria Ave) found itself in the Top-100, scoring 4.5 for its food, 4.7 for its service and 4.4 for its ambiance.

“While Niagara might be most famous for its roaring falls, Remington’s is a fantastic restaurant that should be considered in any travel plans,” says their website. “Most notably, Remington’s employs singing servers, so throughout the night diners are serenaded with everything from easy listening classics of the swing and big band era to modern day top-40 pop.”

And finally, in Niagara Falls, the famous Table Rock House Restaurant (6650 Niagara Pkwy) made the cut, scoring 4.3 for its food and 4.7 for both its service and its ambiance.

“Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner with the Horseshoe Falls as your backdrop or just casual drinks, let this stunning view make your dining experience come alive,” the restaurant says. “After dark, the nightly illumination of Niagara Falls transforms your experience into one you’ll never forget.”
