Niagara Health reports 24 new COVID-19 cases today

Niagara Region saw 24 new cases of COVID-19 today (September 9), leaving the active cases at 256 after 27 were also resolved.
The only real difference is one per cent is listed as Alpha, the initial COVID-19 strain, while the remaining 99 are or are likely to be the Delta variant. For weeks in Niagara, the Delta variant has been the sole cause.
Niagara Falls continues to be the leading municipality with 77 cases while St Catharines has 63. Other municipalities in the double-digits include Thorold at 20, Welland at 17, Fort Erie and Grimsby both at 15, Pelham at 13 and Port Colborne at 12.
Wainfleet remains the only Niagara municipality at zero.
