Niagara Police says the same gang of four daylight looters who broken into three homes in Pelham and one in Welland on May 16 are responsible for two more burglaries yesterday (May 17) – one in Lincoln, the other in Grimsby.
Yesterday’s break-ins occurred a home on Sophie Court in Grimsby, as well as an attempted burglary at a home on Northgate Cres. in Lincoln.
Like the first four, the suspects are still grabbing electronics, cash, and alcohol.
Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service continue to investigate a series of related daytime residential break and enters in Niagara.
The getaway vehicle is a newer model white Ford Expedition SUV with stolen Ontario licence plate CEXF426. The plate was stolen from Jill Drive home in Niagara Falls during the overnight hours on May 15.
All six crimes follow the same pattern. The getaway SUV is backed into the driveways of the targeted homes while one suspect gets out from the front passenger seat and knocks on the door. He then waits 20 to30 seconds and if there is no answer, he goes back to the SUV and two more accomplices jump out of the back seats.
They then force open the front door with a shoulder or tool, remaining at the crime for less than five minutes before taking off.
Suspect One is a slender black male, 20 to 30 years old, 6-foot wearing a grey baseball hat, grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, blue jean jacket over the sweatshirt, brown dress pants, white running shoes and a blue surgical mask, and black gloves.
Suspect Two is a slender male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing navy blue hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and string pulled tight, blue jeans, black shoes, and black gloves.
Suspect Three is also a slender male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing grey hooded sweatshirt with hood up, white sweatpants, grey and white shoes, and white gloves.
There has been no description given for the driver.
The police are asking residents in the areas of the break-and-enters with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras to review their footage for suspicious activity.
