Niagara Police investigating Merritt Island Trail death in Welland

Details are sparse but the Niagara Police are investigating the death of an adult male found on the Merritt Island Trail in Welland today (May 25).
There were reports that their forensics unit was at the scene. Police said foul play was not suspected but the area is still closed off to the public.
However, they added they didn’t believe there was any risk to the public.
Police had no further information available at this time.
