Niagara Region has 14 new COVID-19 cases, drops to just 131 active cases

There are 14 new COVID-19 cases in Niagara Region today (October 19) but with 31 resolved cases, it drops the region to just 131 active cases – the lowest it’s been since the beginning of August.
At the moment, 15 people are in Niagara hospitals for the virus, five are in the ICU. None of the patients in ICU are vaccinated.
Only four municipalities have caseloads in the double digits. St Catharines continue to have the most with 54 active cases (41 per cent of all Niagara) while Niagara Falls, Grimsby and Welland trail far behind with 18, 15 and 11 cases respectively.
The remaining eight municipalities range from zero cases in Pelham up to seven cases in Thorold.
