Residents of Niagara Falls and Welland, who are both in their 30s, face charges related to two domestic disturbances in Haldimand County.

The Ontario Provincial Police say there were two incidents in Dunnville less than five hours apart on Wednesday. The names and gender identities of the accused people was not released.

At 4 p.m., Haldimand OPP officers responded to a call at a residence. Following their investigation, a 32-year-old person from Welland was charged with spousal assault.

Earlier, at 11:30 a.m., officers from the same detachement responded to another call. As a result of that investigation, police charged a 36-year-old person from Niagara Falls with assault causing bodily harm (choking, suffocating or strangling).

Both of the accused will appear in a Cayuga court at a later date to answer to the respective charges.
